ABS Quality Evaluations Prepares Global Organizations for ISO 45001 Certification

ISO 45001, the much anticipated and newly developed international standard for occupational health and safety, was released on March 12, 2018. This is the first global standard addressing the management of workplace risk to prevent injuries, ill health and fatalities and to support safer working environments for the continuous improvement of occupational health and safety performance.

The ISO 45001 standard replaces OHSAS 18001 as the "go to" standard for occupational health and safety. While similar to OHSAS 18001, the new standard adopts the ISO Annex SL framework, allowing for better opportunities for integration with other standards.

For organizations seeking management system certification, ISO 45001 provides a framework to develop a management system needed to reduce work injuries and improve your brand's reputation while increasing your capacity. Certified organizations migrating from OHSAS 18001 to the international standard ISO 45001 will have three years to make this transition.
