ISO 55001:2014 was developed by the International Standards Organization (ISO) to enable organizations to implement effective and efficient management systems for physical assets. The certification provides confidence that an organization can achieve its asset management objectives consistently and sustainably over time.
"As the first, and currently only, global certification body accredited by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB), ABS QE is proud to award the first ISO 55001 certification in the healthcare industry," says Dominic Townsend, Vice President of ABS QE. "This is a significant achievement for UHS and demonstrates the Organization's commitment to international standards of excellence."
"University Health System is an organization that embraces best practices and industry standards in order to provide the best care for our patients with the greatest efficiency and quality," says Richard Rodriguez, Vice President of Assets and Property Management at UHS. "We are proud to be the first among our peers to have earned ISO 55001 certification."
ABS QE was awarded the first global accreditation status from ANAB to certify organizations to ISO 55001 in 2015.
