Scott Sandler brings over 35 years of engineering experience, specializing in Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Programs (RMP) across diverse industries. His background includes work in the chemical, LNG, refinery, gas processing, offshore, pharmaceuticals, hydrogen and industrial gases sectors. Throughout his career, Sandler has provided expert consulting, supervisory and engineering support, contributing to the advancement of safety standards and practices.
His proficiency encompasses conducting Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), Layer of Protection Analyses (LOPA), Safety Integrity Level (SIL) determinations and verifications, and Hierarchy of Hazard Controls Analyses (HCA). Sandler has handled both batch and continuous operations involving a wide array of toxic and flammable materials. His current specialization lies in Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) compliance, particularly in-line with ANSI/ISA-61511-2018/IEC 61511-1:2016+AMD1:2017 CSV standards.
As a certified ISA84 SIS Fundamentals and SIL Verification Specialist, Sandler is also a leading instructor for ABS Consulting's training courses on Safety Integrity Level (SIL) and LOPA.
